Vincent Catholic Cemetery Sheffieldl Village, Lorain County, Ohio
Map to Location
Transcribed from Lorain County's out-of-print publication, Cemetery Inscriptions of Lorain County, Ohio 1980, by Volunteer, Sue Strick, 1999.
Vincent cemetery, a branch of Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, was located on the south side of Route 254 between West River Rd. and the Black River (Garfield Bridge). This location was non-operative for many years and finally abandoned. There is still one stone remaining. The records are not clear, but all or most of the interned were removed to Calvary Cemetery. The following stones still existed and were read in 1978 to be recorded in the Cemetery book. An interesting account of what happened to the Vincent cemetery as related by the adjoining property owner, Bridget Shindler.
